designshop of m+h unit Inc. is located in the Shiro-Building, a 40-year-old concrete building, in a quiet residential community in Minamiazabu, Tokyo. By the hands of Masatoshi Hayano, an interior designer, and Sachie Isaka, an architect, the building was renovated according to our own interpretation appreciating the nice old look of 1960s. The building is painted white because we believe the color white symbolizes the universal purity and the beginning of something new as if it is a blank canvas ready to be painted. Shiro Building - meaning a white building - was named after such hopes.
As a part of Shiro Building, designshop introduces everything
that leads to a 'simple, quality life.' The items found at designshop
vary from traditional Japanese handicrafts to famous Scandinavian
products. Carefully chosen items came from different origins;
however, they blend together without losing its existence due
to their elegant simple designs. We have confidence that all
of our products will enhance your 'simple, quality life'.
Restricted not only to everyday miscellaneous goods & furniture,
