五十嵐威暢と世界のコレクション展
Takenobu Igarashi and World Museum Collection exhibition
世界的なデザイナー・彫刻家である、五十嵐威暢とニューヨーク近代美術館（MOMA）をはじめ世界の美術館コレクション、関わりを紹介する、五十嵐威暢と世界のコレクション展を開催いたします。
1970年代後半から90年代にかけて、パルコやサントリー、カルピスといった企業のロゴやプロダクトデザインを手掛けました。なかでも、五十嵐の活動を特徴づける、アクソノメトリック図法で緻密に描かれた立体文字のポスターは、世界40か所以上の美術館等のコレクションになっている。
また、1983年から1993年の10年間にかけて、ニューヨーク近代美術館から依頼を受けた、各月が異なるアイデア、異なる3Dの数字でデザインされているポスターカレンダーは7年間、 つまり84 種類のアイデアで 4356 個の立体数字を制作し、その他にもカード類、トランプ、傘、ショッピングバッグなど様々な仕事を手がけました。
本展では本年10月6日～11月25日に札幌芸術の森美術館で開催します「五十嵐威暢の世界」展と連動しまして、実際に世界の美術館等にコレクションになっている、ポスター、プロダクト作品の一部を紹介するとともに、1983年から1993年の10年間にかけて、MOMAから依頼を受けたデザインの仕事を様々な角度から紹介します。
また、ご来場の方には、メインヴィジュアルにもなっており、世界のミュージアムのコレクション数が多い、「NOH 能のオリジナルポストカード」をプレゼント、及びスイスの有名コーヒーメーカーJURAユーラで入れた、美味しいコーヒーを試飲頂けます。

Satellite Exhibition of [THE WORLD OF IGARASHI TAKENOBU]
「TAKENOBU IGARASHI and HIS WORKS IN THE WORLD」
We are pleased to announce that designshop Inc. will be hosting the exhibition of Takenobu Igarashi who is a world designer and sculptor. The exhibition will feature his works on display at museums including the Museum of Modern Art in New York (MOMA) will be introduced.
From the 1970s to the 1990s, Igarashi designed corporate logos for clients such as Meiji Milk Products Co. Ltd, Suntory Holdings Ltd, Culpis Co. Ltd. and he in particular attained international acclaim as a graphic designer through his signature design technique - the axonometric drawing method, which utilizes a drafting machine used by architects for drawing plans, to transposes the three-dimensional world into a two dimensional plane. His works are currently in the permanent collection of over 40 museums around the world.
Also, for MOMA, he designed various products such as playing cards, umbrellas and shopping bags for 10 years from 1983 to 1993. Especially, a calendar in which each day of the year is represented by unique three-dimensional numerals was produced for 7 consecutive years, which means he designed 84 ideas and 4356 three-dimensional numerals in total.
Linking with the exhibition [THE WORLD OF IGARASHI TAKENOBU] has been running at Sapporo Art Museum since 6th October 2018, designshop Inc. will be hosting the satellite exhibition in Tokyo with his works including products for MOMA from all the significant stages of his career, such as posters and products on display.
For visitors, we are giving away a post card of NOH which is the main visual of this exhibition and the most renowned work by Igarashi in the world. We are also offering a complimentary cup of great tasting coffee brewed with a famous coffee machine from Switzerland, JURA.
